Atlassian Launches Rovo: AI-Powered Knowledge Tool for Enterprises

Atlassian intelligence

Atlassian’s new AI tool, Rovo, is described as a large knowledge model for your company. The company quotes Rovo as a superpower every team member deserves. On May 1, 2024, during the Atlassian Team ’24 conference in Las Vegas, the world saw its latest AI assistant, Rovo. This new AI-powered search tool will make it easier for enterprises to take data from first and third-party tools.

A recent study from Gartner reveals that 47% of digital workers struggle to find the information or data needed to perform their jobs effectively. The main reason behind this is the scattered data in different applications, such as the cloud, email inbox, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Trello, and many others. Moreover, if you take a look at large enterprises (with over 2000+ employees), they use more than 230 apps. Furthermore, finding the right information in such cases will be very difficult, and it is a very costly problem that is getting worse with time.

How Rovo Simplifies Information Access?

Just picture an easy way to not only find exactly what you need but also understand its significance to your job and know how to proceed with it—all without having to jump between several applications. Atlassian Rovo addresses this problem, and employees will not only find the right data but also learn from it and take action.

Atlassian Rovo is powered by Atlassian Intelligence (launched last year) and has three parts. Though each part is capable of operating separately. However, if you combine them, it’ll create a collaboration loop that has the potential to improve the knowledge discovery and take action on it. All of this without switching to other applications.

Rovo helps teams interact creatively with corporate information by thoroughly understanding your company’s knowledge, people, processes, goals, and more. Furthermore, Rovo facilitates collaborative learning for better understanding while also assisting teams in finding information.

The three parts of Atlassian Rovo are:

  • Find: To obtain contextual and pertinent results inside your Atlassian experience, search across data, tools, and platforms, including your third-party applications and, eventually, in-house systems.
  • Learn: Use knowledge cards, AI chat for deeper data exploration, and AI-driven insights to get a better understanding of the data in your company.
  • Act: Integrate specialist agents into workflows to manage labor-intensive jobs, finish projects, and assist in resolving complex problems.

How does Rovo Search work?

Practical outcomes from all of your content: Identify team members who can bring the requisite experience to bear on a project’s success or research specific topics to gain a stronger understanding of the project. Teams may quickly locate the precise information they need from vast amounts of complicated data by using search. If you’d like, Rovo Search can extract data from popular tools like GitHub, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, Microsoft Sharepoint, and Figma to provide even more detailed responses.

Bring along your custom and industry-specific apps as well: Rovo’s API enables you to integrate custom and specialized apps. The tool has your back whether you’re a pharmaceutical business monitoring bioinformatics or a manufacturer with a proprietary database.

Enterprise-level permissions: Contextual and personalized search results. Employees only view the information they are meant to see since permissions are strictly adhered to, and confidential information is kept hidden. Administrators are in complete control of whether or not search connections and data access are enabled.

Meet Rovo Agents: Your Next-Level Virtual Teammates

Atlassian also created Rovo Agents, which can supercharge your workflow like a virtual teammate. Rovo Agents will transform teamwork by synthesizing large volumes of enterprise data, breaking down complex tasks, learning as they take action, and partnering with their human teammates to make critical and complex decisions.

Agents aren’t just some souped-up version of chatbots. They bring specialized knowledge and skills to a wide variety of workflows and processes.

How can I access Rovo?

According to Sherif Mansour, Atlassian’s distinguished product manager and head of Atlassian Intelligence, not every component is at its full capacity.

Rovo Search, Rovo Learn, and Rovo [Agents] are all early access…at different stages…Find and learn are well ahead. Agents just started, so that’s still early days with that one.

Sherif Mansour in an exclusive interview with Venture Beat

He estimated that Rovo would be available by the end of this year. Currently, only a limited number of clients can access Atlassian Rovo. You can join the waitlist and receive notifications when access is approved.
